We’re now looking for a Chief Technology Officer to lead our technology strategy, execution and team.

CTO | Kilter

👋 We’re Kilter, and we’re on a mission to transform how food is grown.
At Kilter, we’re building technology that improves the land we borrow from nature. With a growing global population and pressure on natural resources, we need to grow more food using less land, fewer inputs, and smarter tools. That’s where we come in.
We’ve developed AX-1, a fully autonomous field robot that targets weeds without harming crops or soil – using advanced AI, IoT and our patented nozzle technology. It reduces herbicide use by 95%, boosts yields by up to 35%, and gives farmers a scalable way to grow food sustainably.
Our platform combines robotics, machine learning, edge and cloud infrastructure, and intuitive digital tools. And it’s working, in real fields, with real customers. But we’re just getting started.
We’re now looking for a Chief Technology Officer to lead our technology strategy, execution and team.
This is not a job for everyone. But if you’ve built complex systems, scaled ambitious tech teams, and delivered real results; this might be the challenge you’ve been waiting for.
As CTO, you’ll be responsible for the architecture, quality and development of all our core technology. You’ll lead our engineering organisation and play a central role in the executive team, helping us scale our product, platform and team globally.
This is a role for someone who thrives in a high-trust environment, understands the power of good systems and strong culture, and wants to help define the future of sustainable agriculture.
What will you do as CTO at Kilter?
You’ll lead our in-house engineering team and shape our entire technology platform – from autonomous robotics in the field, to cloud-based services and data pipelines, to user-facing applications and dashboards.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring that our technology strategy aligns with our business goals – and that we have the capabilities and systems in place to deliver on both. That includes making key architecture decisions, building robust infrastructure, guiding product development, and growing a high-performing tech team.
You’ll also represent Kilter externally, to investors, partners, regulators and customers – and help us build credibility as a technology leader in the agtech space.
You’ll report directly to the CEO, and you’ll be a key contributor to our overall strategy and success.
We think you’ll thrive here if you:
- Have led engineering teams building complex, high-performance systems – and know how to scale both product and people
- Understand robotics, cloud platforms, machine learning, or all three – and are comfortable making decisions that affect all of them
- Have experience working in or with hardware/software companies, and love making tech that works in the real world
- Combine strategic thinking with operational execution – and enjoy switching between the two
- Know the importance of documentation, process and quality – but don’t let them get in the way of progress
- Are a strong communicator who can inspire trust across disciplines, from engineers to farmers to the boardroom
- Have a solid understanding of IP, data privacy, compliance and international regulations – or are willing to learn fast
What we offer:
- A mission that matters – real-world impact, real customers, and global potential
- A leadership role in a tech-company with strong backing and momentum
- A product that works – and a roadmap that’s only just getting started
- A dedicated and experienced team who care deeply about what we build
- Competitive compensation and participation in our employee stock option program
- Flexible setup with team time at our HQ in Langhus, just outside Oslo
- Some international travel is expected

👋 Ready to lead the future of agtech?
We’re not for everyone – and that’s the point. But if this sounds like the kind of mission you’ve been looking for, we’d love to hear from you.
