We're looking for a pragmatic lead developer who wants to own features from idea to production and help write the playbook for AI-assisted learning tools.

Relevant experiences

  • 5+ years of full-stack experience in product-driven companies.

  • Strong proficiency in React and Next.js.

  • Solid backend understanding, preferably with .NET.

  • Experience turning Figma designs into well-executed code.

  • Hands-on experience with AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot).

  • Cloud experience (Azure/GCP/AWS) with pipelines and infrastructure.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with NoSQL databases like Cosmos DB.

  • Proficiency in TypeScript.

  • Previous experience with learning platforms or content management systems.

  • A test-driven mindset and an appreciation for pragmatic code.

  • You enjoy working closely with product and design teams.

  • You have a low ego, high standards, and take full ownership of your work.

About the job

We Are Learning is seeking a Lead Fullstack Developer to be a hands-on technical lead in our two-pizza-sized dev team. You’ll spend most of your time writing code across the full stack, shipping features, and raising the bar through solid code reviews and pragmatic technical decisions.

  • Build across our full stack, using React/Next.js for the frontend and .NET for the backend.

  • Work closely with product and design to understand problems, prototype, iterate, and launch features that matter.

  • Champion code quality by writing clean, maintainable code and providing constructive PR reviews that teach, not just gatekeep.

  • Pioneer AI-assisted development by exploring tools like Claude Code and Cursor to find where AI truly enhances our workflow.

  • Own the entire release cycle, managing CI, feature flags, and deployment cadence to maintain a stable product.
